Landscape Design Consultation

I begin each project by booking a time to meet on site with you, my client.

I will then send you a “how to get the most out of your landscape design consultation”, a “landscape design questionnaire” and a list of the documents you should have on hand during the meeting.

I will then meet with you to discuss your ideas of how the outdoor space should function, the types of spaces you would like to include and the aesthetic that you would like to achieve.

Next I will review with you all legal documents (i.e. real property report, architectural controls, final grading certificate etc.) in order to identify any potential design constraints.

I will then walk through the site with you to further discuss your vision and ascertain any additional design constraints the site presents.

Next I will provide you with approximate cost for the construction and also discuss possible cost savings options in order to meet your budget.

I will also provide you with a detailed design quote for your review and approval and allow you the option to eliminate or add design services.

Upon completion of the meeting I will then provide you with a "record of meeting" which will be submitted to you for your review in order to make sure we have discussed all topics to be considered when preparing the landscape design.
Landscape Design

I begin by photo documenting the site, collecting site measurements and making an inventory of all existing landscape elements.

I then map out and record the surrounding context (i.e. neighboring decks, windows, trees etc.) as well as perform a sun / shade study of the property.

Next I prepare a large format (2’ x 3’) color rendered landscape design concept complete with 3D model walk through, materials quantity list and an "industry average" construction estimate.

I will then arrange to meet with you, my client, to perform a landscape design presentation and review the design, 3D model and estimate.

During the meeting I will make notes of all revisions you request to be made to the design in order for me to complete and submit the final design to you.
Construction Drawings

I can also prepare a complete set of construction and detail drawings in order to aid you or your contractor during the landscape construction.

I will also prepare a materials quantity list noting the amounts of plants, building materials and site elements proposed for your project (supplier information is included).
Project Management

I begin by coordinating a start-up meeting with the contractor in order to review on site the working drawing package.

I will then conduct a series of site visits in order to review the completion of the grading, softscaping and hardscaping (I can also perform the layout of the plant material if requested).

To conclude I conduct a final walk-through with you, my client, in order to prepare a deficiencies list to be submitted to the contractor before final payment.
